Reports murmuring in the Ghanaian media indicate that, the Organizing Committee of the NC Special Competition has changed the venue for Kumasi Asante Kotoko clash against Karela United in the NC Special Competition tier 1 finals.
According to reports, Karela United requested the Normalization Committee to stage the cracker at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium of which their request has been granted.
The game was initially scheduled for the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, June 23, 2019 with 3:00PM as the kick-off time.
Report says the date remains unchanged but the venue has been shifted to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
Karela United made it to the finals courtesy Diawisie Taylor’s late minute goal at the Obuasi Lenclay Stadium against Ashgold while Asante Kotoko had to rely on 4:5 penalty shootouts against bitterest rival Hearts of Oak after 1:1 in regulation at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The two teams will battle in the finals for the giant trophy as well as a chance to represent Ghana in the next season’s CAF Champions League.
