Black Stars head coach, Kwesi Appiah says to win the AFCON takes experienced players with an unflinching support from the inexperienced.
According to Kwesi Appiah, the Black Stars can only end the 37 years of not laying hands on the AFCON trophy if the inexperienced players in the team willingly support the experienced players during the AFCON tournament in Egypt.
“To win the AFCON, it takes experienced to achieve that with support from the inexperienced and it’s the best thing that we blend the experienced among the inexperienced. I think if the inexperienced players in the team (Black Stars) help the experienced ones with determination, Ghana will do something positive”, Appiah told Tv3’s Micheal Oti Adjei.
Meanwhile, Ghana will wrap up their pre-afcon preparations in Dubai today before heading to Egypt on Friday for the prestigious tournament.
Ghana has been pitted in group F alongside Benin, Guinea-Bassau and defending champions Cameroon. The Black Stars will begin the AFCON campaign against the Squirrels of Benin on June 25 before facing the Indomitable Lions in the second game at the Ismailia Stadium.
