Kumasi Asante Kotoko goal poacher, Songne Yacouba has been voted as the 2018/19 season best Burkinabe player outside the country.
Yacouba beats comCompetit! from Asec Mimosas talisman Ahmed Toure and other four players to win the accolade.
The 27-year old has been spectacular for the Porcupine Warriors since joining the team in January, 2018 as free agent.
The former Stade de Malian forward was on the wanted lists of clubs both in Africa and Europe following his splendid performance for Asante Kotoko in the 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
He managed to score 2 goals with 5 assists for the Porcupines even though he didn’t finished all the group matches due to injuries and suspension.
Songne Yacouba will be among the few talents to be missed in the AFCON 2019 after Burkina Faso failed to secure qualification.
