As to who becomes the new Asante Kotoko head coach after Kjetil Zachariassen’ sack, comes with names like Maxwell Konadu, Johnson Smith, Ibrahim Tanko among others.
However, Johnson Smith who is the assistant coach for the Porcupine Warriors, is reported to have taken over the coaching job at Kotoko after the Norwegian was shown the exit door by the management of the club.
Reliable source has revealed to Kyfilla.com that Smith cannot be Asante Kotoko head coach due his coaching certificate.
In the Ghana Premier League, before a coach takes over a team, he must boast of a license A coaching certificate and Johnson Smith is yet to acquire the aforesaid level of certificate as a coach.

According to source, the former Karela United gaffer only has license B and that qualifies him to be an assistant coach of a premiership side but not as the main boss.
With this, the astute tactician doesn’t qualify to be Asante Kotoko head coach even though he has handled the team as the main gaffer once upon a time.
Officially, Smith has not been appointed as the head coach of the Porcupine Warriors but reports in the local media indicate that, he remains favorite for the vacant position.
