Ashgold whipped regional rivals Asante Kotoko in the semi-finals of the NC Special Competition tier 2 at the Accra Sports Stadium to book final berth.
A sounding 3:1 victory was enough for the Miners to book a ticket to the finals of the tier 2 of the Special Competition at the expense of the Porcupine Warriors on Wednesday afternoon.

The early goal didn’t jeopardized the Miners as defender Mubarik Yusif responded quickly with a powerful header in the 5th minutes.
Ashgold continued to put pressure on Asante Kotoko to get the second goal but a brilliant save from Danlard Ibrahim denied Appiah MaCharthy from registering his name on the score sheet.
As the first department of the game was getting to the end, youngster Emmanuel Owusu had the second goal for the Miners in the 38th minutes to end the first proceedings.
Coach Kjetil Zachariassen’s side continued to dominate the game after the recess to increase the lead.
Mark Agyekum had the final goal for the Obuasi based side in the 55th minutes to send Ashgold 2 goals ahead of coach Charles Kwablah Akonnor’s side.
In-form Abdul Fatawu Shafiu nearly had the second consolation goal in the 85th minutes for Asante Kotoko but his strike was saved by Ashgold shot-stopper Frank Boateng.
Ashgold after the sounding victory will face division one outfit Nzema Kotoko in the finals to battle for a ticket to represent Ghana in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
