Head of Communications for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Sarfo Duku (Esq) says his outfit are capable of beating arch rivals Hearts of Oak without their talisman Songne Yacouba.
The Porcupines will face off the Continental Club Masters in the semi-finals of the NC Special Competition on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at the Accra Sports Stadium with the Burkinabe import likely to miss the cracker.
Updating the media on the current injury situation of the former Stade de Malian agile goal poacher ahead of the highly anticipated encounter, Sarfo Duku emphasized that, the technical bench is waiting for a report from the medical team on whether Yacouba will be fit enough for the cracker or not but even without him, the other materials available are equally good and will beat the Phobians hands down.
“His (Songe Yacouba) injury situation depends on what the doctors will say but trust my words, with or without Yacouba, Kotoko will beat Hearts of Oak. We will be coming all joyous from Accra to Kumasi”, Duku told Light FM.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will come face-to-face with Hearts of Oak without their first-choice shot-stopper Felix Annan who is part of the Black Stars final squad for the AFCON but will have leading topscorer in the Special Competition Abdul Fatawu Shafiu back in the team.
Hearts of Oak on the other hand will bolster their defense with the come back of Mohammed Alhassan who was dropped out of Ghana’s final 23-man squad for AFCON.
