Asante Kotoko have beaten Kano Pillars in the second-leg of the CAF Champions League in Kumasi on Sunday.
Matthew Kelvin Andoh and Emmanuel Gyamfi’s goals were enough as the Porcupines flogged the Kano based side 2:0.
Kotoko started the game on a good note, dominating possession and creating descent chances which resulted to Matthew Kelvin Andoh’ third minute goal in the game.
The Porcupines continued their dominance, showing enough eagerness to get the second goal.
Naby Keita could have netted the second goal for the Porcupine Warriors in 22nd minute, but his attempt on Kelvin Andoh’ corner kick went wide.
Kano Pillars head coach Ibrahim Musa made two quick changes as he brought on Yusuf Maigoro and Ifeanyi Nweke for Sani Nasiru and Nzuba Anaezemba in the 23rd minute.
The change yielded a positive result, as the visitors bursted forward for the first time in the 33rd minute, but a cross into Asante Kotoko penalty box was cleared.
Kelvin Andoh nearly as the double for Asante Kotoko in the 35th minute, but his header to Emmanuel Gyamfi’s corner kick went wide.

Nyima Nwagua of Kano Pillars was an inches away to give the visitors the consolation, as he shot a whisker to the crossbar from the edge of the penalty box in the 68th minute.
Kotoko continued dominating, with Richard Arthur missing an opportunity in the 71st minute of the encounter.
Victor Dennis of Kano Pillars was shown the first yellow card, after a bad play in the 72nd minute.
In the 79th minute, Emmanuel Gyamfi netted the double for Asante Kotoko to calm down the supporters nerve.
Naby Keita pulled up an eye-catching through pass with his chest from Richard Arthur’s pass for Gyamfi to slot in the second goal for the Porcupines.
Coach Kjetil Zachariassen started introducing new players to the game as he brought in Alexis Didi, Godfred Asiamah and George Abege for Samuel Frimpong, Emmanuel Gyamfi and Richard Arthur respectively.
The Porcupines pressed harder for another goal but the game ended 2-0 in their favour, which means they have qualified to the next round 4:3 on aggregates.
Asante Kotoko will face Etoile du Sahel in the last qualifying round of the CAF Champions League.
