Kumasi Asante Kotoko talisman Abdul Fatawu Shafiu has revealed the secret behind his sudden form for the team.
Fatawu who joined the Porcupine Warriors from Eleven Wonders ahead of the team’s 2018/19 Africa campaign has all of a sudden rose to the top as the Asante Kotoko postal boy.
He received series of bashing from the media and some section of Asante Kotoko supporters when he neared a flop signing and couldn’t make it to the starting line-up of the team.
The dead-ball specialist started to earn the attention of most Ghanaian football loving fans following his classic goal against Kariobanji Sharks in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Out of nowhere, Abdul Fatawu Shafiu stole the headlines with his mind boggling performances for the Porcupine Warriors in the NC Special Competition, denying Songne Yacouba the postal boy tag.
His outstanding performance got him a place in the Black Stars provisional squad for the AFCON 2019 but was axed from the final 23-man squad alongside Heart of Oak’s Mohammed Alhassan
He has rose to fame at the Kumasi based side in the on-going NC Special Competition, increasing the affection after scoring against Hearts of Oak in the semi-finals of the NC Special Competition. He’s currently fighting for the topscorers award alongside Karela United sensation Diawisie Taylor.
As to why the sudden form, the former Liberty Professionals, Inter Allies, Vimmerby IF, Portland Timbers 2, Whitecaps FC and Shirak forward explains below

Abdul Fatawu Shafiu has scored nine goals in the NC Special Competition tier one hoping to leapfrog Karela United sensation Diawisie Taylor who has netted ten goals so far.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will meet Karela United in the final of the NC Special Competition tier one at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, June 23, 2019 where the winner will represent Ghana at the next season’s CAF Champions League.
