Former Arsenal midfielder, Emmanuel Frimpong has said he is proud to have represented Ghana at the senior level ahead of England.
The perspicacious midfielder played for England at the U16 and U17 levels before choosing to represent Ghana at the senior level where he made his debut against Sudan in 2013.[ads2]
But his career with Ghana was hampered by series of injuries he suffered while playing for clubs in Europe.
“I don’t follow the money too much. Obviously, playing for England, you get money and more exposure, I remember when I used to watch Abedi Pele and Tony Yeboah So, I have always had a passion for playing for Ghana. I am proud I did that,” he told GTV Sports Plus as quoted by Ghana soccertnet.[ads3]
Frimpong begun his career with Arsenal youth side in 2011 before he was promoted to the senior team by Arsena Wenger. He later spent time on loan at Wolves, Charlton and Fulham.
He also played Barnsley, Ufa, Arsenal Tula, Ekilstuna and Ermis Aradippou before hanging his boots in 2017.[ads5]
