Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Osei Kwame says he is expecting to get more playing time under new coach Kjetil Zachariassen.
Osei Kwame is usually ranked behind Felix Annan and Danlad Ibrahim in Asante Kotoko.
But with the Porcupine Warriors about to begin the CAF Champions League campaign next month, Osei Kwame revealed that his only aim is to impress the technical handlers whenever he gets the opportunity to keep the poles which will enable him to get enough playing time in the team.
“If you look at last season and the number of matches I played, I will say it’s football. As a player, you have to be ready for every game, so this year, I’m expecting to get more playing time”, Kwame told Kotoko Express.
He added that, with the inclusion of Black Meteors and former Inter Allies goalkeeper, Kwame Baah; the contest for the number one spot will be keen but he is hoping to get a chance to prove himself.
“My intention is, if I get the chance, I will be able to improve better than last season. That’s what I’m working on so that, whenever I get the chance, I can deliver. New players coming in is nothing serious. What I can do for the team, I will do it, and offer everything.”
Osei Kwame was in poles when Asante Kotoko clamped Karela United in the finals of the NC Special Competition tier 1 to lift the trophy and also book a slot in the next season’s CAF Champions League campaign.
