Former Asante Kotoko midfielder Michael Akuffu has said he joined the club because of love for the team and not money.

According to Akuffu, before signing for Kotoko, the President of Medeama, Moses Armah Parker wanted to hijack the deal by inviting him and other two players for a meeting in Accra.
He disclosed that Moses Armah Parker was willing to give them any amount and other luxurious packages but they refused since they were much interested in playing for Kotoko than any other club.
“I love Kotoko even when I was at Feyenoord Academy so when Moses Parker wanted to hijack our deal to Kotoko, we refused because we were much interested in joining Kotoko than any other club”, Akuffu told Angel FM in Kumasi.
