The Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Professor Peter Twumasi has assured that government is keen on renovating the deplorable Gyandu Park in Sekondi.
According to Professor Peter Twumasi, government has directed the NSA and the Sports Ministry to provide database of all state-owned stadiums and parks that need to be renovated and the Gyandu Park is top on the list.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Wontumi Radio/TV and monitored by Kyfilla.com, Professor Peter Twumasi indicated that the Youth and Sports Ministry will soon announce the list of parks that will be redeveloped into an international FIFA standard.
“It is true that government has directed the NSA and Sports Ministry to provide database of all state-owned stadia and parks that need renovations. Per what I know Gyandu Park is among the list”, Peter Twumasi told Wontumi Radio/TV.

The Gyandu Park was built in the colonial days and served as the home ground for Sekondi Hasaacas and Eleven Wise but has currently left to rot.
Gyandu Park had a proper renovation twelve years ago when Ghana was preparing to host the 2008 AFCON.

The last time the facility felt a brush was when former Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi visited the Regional Football Secretariat which ignited a painting exercise of the facility .
According to the Club Licensing Board, the venue which was once upon a time in the history of Ghana football a fortress is no longer fit to host even division one league matches, forcing Sekondi Hasaacas, Proud United to move to the Sekondi Sports Stadium..
