The Ghana Football Association upon the directives of the Government of Ghana suspended all competitions on March 15, 2020 and later invalidated the season on June 30, 2020 which didn’t really pleased some clubs.
GFA with strict restrictions from Confederation of Africa Football chose Asante Kotoko and Ashantigold SC to represent Ghana in next season’s CAF inter-club competitions.

Just some few days after the invalidation of the 2019/2020 Football Season, Professor Peter Twumasi in an interview with Accra-based Atinka FM, has disclosed that government has eased restrictions on all contact sports including football.
“Currently the president has relax a bit of the restrictions to allow our elite athletes including those from football, athletics, boxing to be able to train.
“Not competitive sports but to be able to train within our sporting facilities, but it has been a challenge to many of them”, he told Atinka FM.
The move has already spiced up some uproar among those spending on football in the country. GFA has not decided its way forward yet, a meeting which was scheduled for the EXCO on July 9 has been postponed to July 14, 2020.
