Ghana midfield dynamo Evelyn Badu has been adjudged the young women’s footballer of the year at 2022 CAF Awards ongoing in Rabat, Morocco.

The 19-year old has scooped the award after a scintillating performance for Hasaacas Ladies last season before joining Avaldsnes IL.
The Black Princesses captain defeated competition from compatriot and former teammate Doris Boaduwaa and Morocco’s Yasmine Zouhir, who plays for AS St Etienne to cinch the award.[ads2]
This becomes her second award after winning the women’s inter-club footballer of the year.
Evelyn Badu was phenomenal in Hasaacas Ladies’ extraordinary campaign at the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League last year.
Even though Hasaacas Ladies lost the final to Mamelodi Sundowns, Evelyn Badu ended the competition as the topscorer, scoring five goals.
The talented midfielder was also named the player of the tournament.[ads3]
Badu was transferred from Hasaacas Ladies to sign for Norwegian club Avaldsnes IL ahead of the 2021/22 season.
She is currently the captain of the Black Princesses of Ghana that’s preparing for the 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup slated for August in Costa Rica.[ads5]
