Former Asante Kotoko talisman Abdul Fatawu Shafiu has won the ‘Home-Based Player of the Year’ award in the 2018/19 Ghana Football Awards.
The 24-year old beat competition from former teammate Felix Annan alongside Mohammed Alhassan of Hearts of Oak.
Shafiu was phenomenal for the Porcupine Warriors in the NC Special Competitions, scoring ten goals in the tier 1 which earned him a place in the Black Stars provisional squad for the AFCON 2019.
He completed a three-year deal to Swedish topflight side Helsingborgs IF few days ago following a fruitful negotiations.
Fatawu previously played for Inter Allies, Eleven Wonders, Whitecaps and Shirak.
