The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has rejected Hasaacas Ladies request to postpone league opener against Ladystrikers.
The defending champions face Ladystrikers in the Ghana Women’s Premier League opener on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Gyandu Park.[ads2]
But Hasaacas Ladies wrote to the GFA to reschedule the date for the Ladystrikers clash due to fatigue in the team’s camp after participating in six different competitions this year.
“The management have written to the GFA to consider postponing our match, and give us [Hasaacas Ladies] about a week or two break. We have serious injury situations and six of our players are out for national team assignment, there is fatigue in camp, and we hope the GFA will consider and give us a favourable response”, coach Basigi told Takoradi-based Ahoto FM in an interview.[ads3]
But reports murmuring in the media indicate that GFA has rejected Hasaacas Ladies request, asking the team to consult the technical handlers of the Black Princesses to release three of their players for the Ladystrikers game on Saturday.
Hasaacas Ladies participated in six different competitions this year, which includes the Ghana Women’s Premier League, FA Cup, WAFU Cup, CAF Champions League, Ghana Super Cup and the First Lady’s Cup – which has brought fatigue and serious injury situations in camp.[ads4]
Meanwhile, out of the six competitions that Hasaacas Ladies participated, the team won five trophies, lost only the CAF Champions League to Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa after a 2:0 defeat in the final.
Domestically, Hasaacas Ladies won the Ghana Women’s Premier League, FA Cup, Super Cup and the maiden edition of the First Lady’s Cup after beating rivals Ampem Darkoa Ladies in the final.
They also won the maiden edition of the WAFU Zone B Cup held in Ivory Coast, beating Nigeria’s Rivers Angels in a cagey final.[ads5]
