Asante Kotoko came from behind to beat Burkinabe side Rahimo FC in a friendly at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium today.
Goals from Martin Antwi and Matthew Kelvin Andoh were enough as the Porcupine Warriors defeated the Burkinabe side 2:1.
Rahimo FC started the game on a good note, creating some fearful chances which resulted to Razak Coulibaly’s 39th minutes goal to end the first proceedings of the game.
Kotoko returned from the tunnel with coach Kjetil Zachariassen making seven changes.
George Abege, Matthew Kelvin Andoh, Martin Antwi, Didi Alexis were all introduced to the game.
The Porcupines bounced back with an excellent performance, creating some decent chances but to no avail.
George Abege nearly had the equalizer for Asante Kotoko in the 50th minutes but missed the poles by inch.
Kotoko continued to put pressure on the visitors until substitute Martin Antwi restored parity with a tantalizing header in the 74th minutes.
Former Wa All Stars winger Matthew Kelvin Andoh netted the decider for Asante Kotoko in the dying embers of the fascinating fixture. The game ended 2:1 for the Ghana Premier League giant.
Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko will begin their CAF Champions League campaign against Nigerian side Kano Pillars in the preliminary round.
