Asante Kotoko talisman Abdul Fatawu Shafiu is likely to land in the French Ligue 1, Kyfilla.com understands.
Shafiu who is currently Asante Kotoko key player for the next season’s CAF Champions League campaign has attracted offers from clubs both in France and Belgium.
But reliable source at Asante Kotoko has divulged that, the former Eleven Wonders attacker might land in France with an unnamed topflight club who have showed keen interest in the dead-ball specialist.
Abdul Fatawu Shafiu was spectacular for the Porcupines during the NC Special Competitions, where he helped the Kumasi based side to clinch the tier 1 of the competition after beating Karela United in the finals.
Source at Asante Kotoko top hierarchy told Kyfilla.com that “Fatawu might move to France but management are considering the offer before making any final decisions but France is his likely destination.”
Shafiu managed to score 10 goals in the tier 1 of the NC Special Competition same as Karela United forward Diawusie Taylor.
His blistering performance for Asante Kotoko got him a place in the Black Stars provisional squad -list for the AFCON 2019 but was axed in the final 23-man squad alongside Hearts of Oak defender Mohammed Alhassan.
Abdul Fatawu Shafiu previously played for Liberty Professionals, Inter Allies, Vimmerby IF, Portland Timbers, Whitecaps FC and Shirak.
