The Accra rep of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Nana Kwame Dankwah has confirmed that, their NC Special Competition tier 2 game against Ashgold on Wednesday grossed GHC¢30,000.
Kotoko were whipped 3:1 by regional rivals Ashgold in the semi-finals of the tier 2 of the NC Special Competition at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday.
Nana Kwame Dankwah also revealed that, both Asante Kotoko and Ashgold received GHC¢7,800 each as their 45% share of the gate proceeds.
“These amounts are not enough and we pray our supporters will come to Baba Yara on Sunday so we beat Karela United. The gross was a little over GH 30,000 and Asante Kotoko got GH 7800”, he told Oyerepa FM.
Ashgold after the victory over Kotoko have qualified for the finals of the NC Special Competition tier 2 where they will face division one side Nzema Kotoko with the Porcupine Warriors set to battle for next season’s CAF Champions League slot against Karela United in the NC Special Competition tier 1 grand finale.
