Ghana Premier League powerhouse, Asante Kotoko will leave Ghana for Nigeria on Thursday, 8th August, 2019 ahead of their CAF Champions League clash against Kano Pillars.
The Porcupine Warriors will face the Nigeria side in the first-leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round on August 10, 2019 at the Sani Abacha Sports Stadium before the second-leg in Kumasi.
According to the Public Relations Officer for the Porcupines, Kennedy Boakye Ansah, the team will move to the Accra Academy sports complex and train on the school’s astro turf before departing for Nigeria.
“The team will depart to Nigeria on Thursday to continue our preparations ahead of our game against kano Pillars”, Boakye Ansah told Ashh FM.
“As part of our preparations ahead of our 1st leg game in the CAF Champions league, the team will move to Accra Academy sports complex and train for some days on an Astro turf because the game would be played on an Astro turf”
“Our supporters will see an improved performance in the team in Nigeria in our game against Kano Pillars.
“We are making arrangements with the Ghanaian embassy in Nigeria for security arrangements for our supporters who would travel with the team by road”, he concluded.
