Asante Kotoko have written to the Ghana Football Association for guidance as they seek to appeal the verdict of the Players Statues Committee ruling on Monday.
Asante Kotoko were ordered by the GFA Players Statues Committee to pay a sum of Gh¢197,000 to four of its former players namely Evans Owusu, Stephen Ayiku Tetteh, Matthew Kelvin Andoh and Abass Mohammed.[ads2]
A statement from the Ghana FA Statues Committee on Monday reads, “The Players’ Status Committee (PSC) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has pronounced decisions on four cases concerning Asante Kotoko SC and four of its former players”
“In separate petitions, Abass Mohammed, Mathew Kelvin Andoh and Stephen Tetteh Aryiku and Evans Owusu, all petitioned the PSC on the Club’s unilateral termination of their contracts”[ads3]
“They therefore sought for the PSC to rule on the payment of their outstanding salaries and signing on fees.”
In details, Asante Kotoko were ordered to pay Stephen Ayiku Tetteh a sum of Gh¢59,000 with Gh¢50,000 being the reminder of his signing on fee and the Gh¢9,000 as his six month salary.[ads4]
Also, the Ghana Premier League record holders were told by the Statues Committee to pay Matthew Kelvin Andoh Gh¢62,000 with Abass Mohammed to also be paid Gh¢50,800 and Ayiku Tetteh a sum of Gh¢59,000.
But in a statement dated January 23, 2021 and signed by the Administrative Manager Emmanuel Netwon Dasoberi, Asante Kotoko have declared their intentions to appeal the ruling, asking the Ghana FA for guidance in filing their case.
