As Asante Kotoko face regional rivals Ashanti Gold in the BK Edusei Cup on Sunday, September 1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Kyfilla.com have compiled the likely line-up for the Porcupines ahead of the clash.
The criteria for selecting these players is based on their performances during the various training sessions they had ahead of the game on Sunday.
With Asante Kotoko to face Hearts of Oak and Etoile du Sahel in the 2019 President’s Cup and CAF Champions League respectively, one might think coach Kjetil Zachariassen will parade a ‘soft’ side for the clash but Kyfilla.com believe otherwise, since Kotoko will want to win to keep the morale in camp high ahead of the double clash.
Per Kyfilla.com conclusions, first-choice goalkeeper Felix Annan looks likely to be in post for the clash despite Kwame Baah being impressive during the training sessions.
In defense, coach Kjetil Zachariassen might go in for Wahab Adams pair with Habib Mohammed with Ampem Dacosta and Patrick Yeboah to play the right and left back roles respectively.
Justice Blay looks favorite to start the holding midfield role with Samuel Frimpong, Emmanuel Gyamfi and Matthew Kelvin Andoh to complete the midfield.
In the attack, Augustine Okrah stands tall to make his competitive Asante Kotoko debut with Richard Arthur pair in a 4-4-2 formation.
Below is the line-up
1. Felix Annan
2. Habib Mohammed
3. Wahab Adams
4. Ampem Dacosta
5. Patrick Yeboah
6. Justice Blay
7. Samuel Frimpong
