Ghana Premier League heavyweight, Asante Kotoko recorded GH¢ 590,480 as gross income from their CAF Champions League clash against Kano Pillars on Sunday.
The Porcupines defeated the Nigerians 2-0 on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi to secure next round qualification.
Goals from Matthew Kelvin Andoh and Emmanuel Gyamfi were enough for the Kumasi based side, to book a ticket to the last qualifying round of the Champions League prelims via 4:3 on aggregates against Kano Pillars.
Coach Kjetil Zachariassen’ side will now face Tunisia powerhouse, Etoile du Sahel in the last round of the qualifiers, before securing a ticket to the group stages.
Kotoko will host the first-leg at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on September 15, 2019 before the reverse fixture in Tunisia.
The 2005 CAF Confederation Cup finalist, will be hoping to surpass Etoile du Sahel in the last qualifying round, to book a ticket to group stages of the Champions League for the first time since 2006.
