Former Asante Kotoko attacker Frederick Boateng has shockingly disclosed that the Angola top-flight league is more competitive than the Ghana Premier League.
The Ghana Premier League was once the best in Africa because of the quality of players the league was boasting of then and the performance of its clubs in continental competitions.

But same cannot be said of today, as clubs in the league find it difficult to perform well in CAF inter-club competitions despite the history the country boast of in terms of club competitions in the continent.
Speaking to Nimde3 FM in an interview, Frederick Boateng who is currently playing for Desportivo De Huila on loan from Premeiro De Agosto in Angola, believes the Ghana Premier League cannot be compared to the Angola league when it comes to the competitive nature of both leagues.
“I must confess that, the Angola league is very tough. If you’re not hardworking, believe me, you can’t survive here [Angola]. Unlike Ghana that the weather is very hot, here it very cold especially where my team is basing.

“You only need to be hardworking if you are playing in the Angola league because if you fail to impress, they will terminate your contract without hesitating, so I will say the Angola league is more competitive than the Ghana Premier League”, he added.
Boateng had his two-year contract with Asante Kotoko terminated after he was deemed surplus to requirements by then Kotoko coach CK Akonnor.
He has so far capped 7 matches for Desportivo De Huila, scoring 5 goals.
