Former Asante Kotoko head coach Charles Kwablah Akonnor has been adjudged the overall best coach in the 2018/19 Ghana Football Awards.
The 45-year old beat competition from Karela United gaffer Johnson Smith and Black Maidens coach Augustine Adotey to win the award.
Akonnor was appointed as the head coach for the Porcupine Warriors in October last year on a three-year deal but was told to step aside after nine months of stay.
During the nine months, Akonnor managed to reach the group stages of the last season’s CAF Confederation Cup and even qualified the team to the next season’s CAF Champions League by beating Karela United in the finals of the NC Special Competition tier 1.
Akonnor previoulsy coached Sekondi Eleven Wise, Hearts of Oak, Dreams FC and Ashanti Gold SC.
