The Black Stars of Ghana have been dealt a big blow with the injury of defender Mohammed Salisu.

The towering centre-back has been ruled out of Ghana’ clash against South Africa in the 2021 AFCON qualifiers after sustaining an injury.
According to Real Villadolid, the 20-year old centre-back sustained an injury during their game against Deportivo Alaves in the Laliga Santader.
“Salisu will have to wait for his debut with the Ghanaian national team. The left-hander, who has dragged back for several weeks, reported after the game against Deportivo Alavés a sharp pain in the lower back that forces sports rest.” The Club confirmed.

He has joined the likes of Harrison Afful and Mubarak Wakaso who have been ruled out Ghana’ AFCON qualifiers against South Africa and São Tome and Principe due to injury.
Ghana face South Africa at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Thursday, November 14 before traveling to São Tome and Principe to face them on November 18, 2019.
