Ex- Accra Hearts of Oak skipper, Amankwah Mireku is pleading to the supporters of the club to forgive former colleague Charles Taylor for the ‘unfair’ comment he made about the team.
Charles Taylor has in the last two days been in the news for passing ‘unfair’ comments about his former club which has seen him receiving threatening messages from some of the supporters of the club.
However, Mireku who played for the Continental Club Masters for almost ten years and captained the team as well for African glories together with the 64 battalions have pleaded with the supporters of the club to have mercy on the former player who was threatened not to step foot at the Accra Sports Stadium during a clash between oldies of Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak on Wednesday.
In a statement from the 64 battalion squad of the Rainbow side states that “Yes all have been heard and the conclusion of the matter is that, we the 64 Batallion is pleading with the Oak tree family to have mercy on our colleague Charles Kwaku Asanpong Taylor.
” On behalf of the 64 batallion squad, please accept the sincere apology of our colleague to enable him perform in tomorrow’s game. Thanks so much for your support and be there for us whenever the need arises”, the statement concludes.
