Former Asante Kotoko gaffer CK Akonnor has been appointed as the Black Stars assistant coach, Kyfilla.com can report.

According to reliable source, the former Kotoko gaffer will assist coach Kwesi Appiah during the Black Stars AFCON 2021 qualifiers starting from Thursday, November 14, 2019.

Per the source, Akonnor will be given an appointment letter after Black Stars two AFCON qualifiers against South Africa and São Tomé and Príncipe.

He has replaced Ibrahim Tanko who has been assigned the Black Meteors job, preparing for the upcoming Africa U23 Championship in Egypt.
CK Akonnor has previously coached Sekondi Eleven Wise, Hearts of Oak, Ashgold SC and Asante Kotoko.
