The Ghana Football Association has released the Black Stars’ squad list for the final phase of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with crucial fixtures against the Central African Republic (C.A.R) and Comoros on the horizon.
Head coach Otto Addo has called up a blend of youth and experience as Ghana seeks to seal qualification. Goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi (St. Gallen) returns alongside Benjamin Asare of Accra Hearts of Oak and Joseph Anang of St. Patrick’s Athletic.
In defence, stalwarts such as Alexander Djiku (Spartak Moscow), Mohammed Salisu (AS Monaco), and Alidu Seidu (Stade Rennais) headline the list. They are joined by rising talents including Caleb Yirenkyi (FC Nordsjælland), Kojo Peprah Oppong (OGC Nice), and Ebenezer Annan (AS Saint-Étienne).
The midfield boasts Thomas Partey (Villarreal CF), Elisha Owusu (AJ Auxerre), and the in-form Mohammed Kudus (Tottenham Hotspur), with support from Prince Owusu (Medeama SC) and Kwasi Sibo (Real Oviedo).
Upfront, the attack looks formidable with Leicester City duo Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Jordan Ayew, alongside Joseph Paintsil (LA Galaxy), Antoine Semenyo (AFC Bournemouth), and Athletic Club’s Iñaki Williams. Christopher Bonsu Baah (Al-Qadsiah) and Kamaldeen Sulemana (Atalanta BC) also add pace and flair to the flanks.
The Black Stars will first face the Central African Republic on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at the Stade Honneur in Meknès, Morocco, before returning home for their final fixture against Comoros on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
With two decisive matches left, Ghana’s chances of booking a ticket to the 2026 FIFA World Cup rest on strong performances in both games. Fans are expected to rally behind the team as they chase qualification for the global showpiece.
