The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku has confirmed the arrival of the Ghanaian players who were stranded in Ethiopia.
The players which include former Black Stars defender Lee Addy, Muntari Tagoe, a former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper and others were stranded in Ethiopia after the league season in the country was cancelled somewhere in March.

These players couldn’t return back to Ghana due to the closure of all Ghanaian borders as directed by President Akufo-Addo as a way to curb the novel Coronavirus in Ghana.

The players then took to social media to plead with the Ghana FA and the government to support them back to their motherland.

The players have finally landed in Ghana. They arrived in Ghana from the capital of Togo, Lome by air and were bussed to Prampram to begin fourteen-day mandatory Quarantine.
This was confirmed by Kurt Okraku on his Facebook page which reads,” stranded Ghanaian footballers including national star Lee Addy have been airlifted home today, after an SOS message. In all, 18 players and 12 others arrived at their quarantine base for Mandatory 14-day exercise.
