Ghana is one of the few countries blessed with quick-witted coaches who have made a mark for themselves in African football. The West African country has witnessed incredible tactical display from its some intelligent coaches born and bread in the country.
When mentioning top Ghanaian coaches who have raised the flag of the Kwame Nkrumah’s Ghana higher, names like Cecil Jones Attuquayfio, E.K Afranie, C.K Gyamfi, who are all late, easily comes to mind.
But after joining the ancestors, their knowledge imparted to the then younger generations geminated and beared fruits like Francis Oti Akenteng, JE Sarpong, Bashir Hayford, Paa Kwesi Fabin, Maxwell Konadu, Kwasi Appiah, Didi Dramani, Evans Adotey, Johnson Smith, Yaw Preko, Annor Walker, Samuel Boadu, Ignatius Osei-Fosu, Bismark Kobby Mensah and host of others.[ads4]
But one local coach who is making name for himself especially in women’s football is the knowledgeable Abdul Yusif Basigi, the current head coach of treble winners, Hasaacas Ladies.

Born on March 1, 1972, Yusif Basigi is arguably the best local coach in Ghana as far as women’s football is concerned, having won the Ghana Women’s Premier League title with Hasaacas Ladies on four historic times.
He is currently holding the fort as the only Ghanaian coach to win treble in the women’s football division after guarding Hasaacas Ladies to lift the 2020/21 Ghana Women’s Premier League, FA Cup title and the maiden edition of the WAFU Cup held in Ivory Coast months ago.

Speaking to Kyfilla.com, the well-rounded Yusif Basigi revealed that his career objective is to look for a football coaching position where his experience in coaching and organizing football programs can contribute in developing a comprehensive team that can win competitions.[ads1]
Yusif Basigi is an excellent communicator, a good planner with an amazing analyzing skills. On top, is his skill of imposing and maintaining discipline and team’s spirit as well as his immense interest, passion and commitment for the sport.

He is a CAF License A holder and a graduate of the University of Education in Winneba with a degree in health physical education recreation and sports.
The brainy Basigi is a former Black Queens, Black Princesses, Hasaacas (Men’s Team) head coach and currently Black Meteors (Ghana U-23) assistant coach.[ads1]
As the head coach of the Black Queens, Yusif Basigi guided the team to win gold in the 2015 All African Games held in Congo Brazaville and was bestowed the Sports Writers Association of Ghana’s coach of the year award.
He had a fruitful and flamboyant campaign last season with Hasaacas Ladies – having won the Ghana Women’s Premier League, Ghana FA Cup, WAFU CUP in Ivory Coast.

Due to the spectacular season he had with Hasaacas Ladies, Yusif Basigi was named Nasco coach of the year and the Universal Women’s Premier League coach of the year in the women’s football division.
Yusif Basigi has a bountiful knowledge in his career as football coach, having had internship with Pick Up Academy Football and English Premier League outfit Crystal Palace. He has also underwent a month attachment at ZFK Napredak Krusevac in Serbia and German side ATS Buntetor.
He will be guiding Hasaacas to the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League to be held in Egypt this month.

And with his brilliant knowledge of the sport, it won’t be surprising that big clubs and countries would be chasing for his signature after the CAF Women’s Champions League.
The punctilious Abdul Yusif Basigi has been nominated as coach of the year in the upcoming Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards.
