Ghana legend, Asamoah Gyan has refused to rule out the opportunity of becoming the Ghana FA President in future.
The 36-year old want to follow the steps of Samuel Eto’o who is now the overlord of the Cameroon Football Federation.
According to Asamoah Gyan, though he has never thought of it, a chance to become the overseer of the country’s football fraternity is a possibility.
Speaking on Asaase Radio ahead of his book launch on April 30, the former Sunderland attacker revealed that people have approached him to contest for the Ghana FA Presidential seat after retiring from active football.
“I don’t know. It might be possible. I haven’t thought about it. There are a lot of people who call me and tell me that I can be the FA President one day,” he said on Asaase FM on Tuesday.
Gyan was also asked why he chose Legon Cities ahead of Asante Kotoko prior to the commencement of the 2020/21 league season.
The former Modena FC striker was heavily linked to Kotoko after stint with Indian side NorthEast United but snubbed the Porcupine Warriors for Legon Cities FC on a year deal.
But Asamoah Gyan has revealed that reason why he decided to join Legon Cities instead of his ‘dream club’ to Kotoko. He disclosed that, “I came to Legon Cities because my house is in Accra but Asante Kotoko is my team and scoring against Hearts of Oak is in my DNA.
“To be honest when Legon Cities played against Asante Kotoko and my own Kotoko fans booed me, to be honest, that really hurt but I got over it and realized that it is all love; it did hurt though.”
At Legon Cities, Asamoah Gyan struggled, appeared in only six games for a total of 96 minutes and failed to score.
