Former Cameroon international, Samuel Eto’o has been elected President of the country’s football federation in an election on Saturday.
The former FC Barcelona superstar defeated incumbent and fourth vice-president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Seidou Mbombo Njoya.[ads2]
Eto’o will steer the affairs of the Cameroon FA for the next four years after winning the cagey elections in Yaounde.
Seven candidates should have contested the elections, but five of them pulled out on the morning of the elections.[ads3]
The four-time African Footballer of the Year won the election with 12 votes difference after accumulating 43 votes as against Njoya’s 31 with 74 delegates voting.[ads5]
