Ghana Premier League giant, Asante Kotoko have parted ways with thirty coaches since 2000.
Coach Maxwell Konadu becomes the 30th coach after his sacking on Friday morning.[ads2]
The former Black Stars assistant coach has been fired by Asante Kotoko after a painful 1:0 defeat to Great Olympics in the Ghana Premier League on last Thursday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Despite having a CAF Champions League game against Sudanese giant Al Hilal in the next few days, Asante Kotoko have parted ways with coach Maxwell Konadu with second assistant Johnson Smith to serve as the interim head coach for the meantime.[ads3]
This means that Maxwell Konadu has become the eleventh Ghanaian coach to be fired by the Ghana Premier League record holders.
He had a fruitful campaign with the club in the 2011-12 season where he won the Ghana Premier League title with the club but his second coming has been a disaster.
In all, Asante Kotoko have fired 11 local coaches and 19 expatriates with Norwegian Kjetil Zachariassen as the last expatriate coach to face the axe.[ads4]
Asante Kotoko have parted ways with local coaches like Didi Dramani, Coach Opeele, Maxwell Konadu (2 occasions), Johnson Smith, CK Akonnor, Abdul Razak, Ebo Mends, Herbert Addo and Paa Kwesi Fabin.
