Black Queens head coach, Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo has said the team is currently under rebuilding and engaging in more international matches will strengthen the team.
She said this after the team’s defeat to Morocco in a friendly game in Rabat last Tuesday. The friendly was to prepare the Moroccans for the upcoming Africa Women’s Cup of Nations later this year.
The Black Queens were beaten 2:0 by the Moroccans at the FAR Sportive Stadium with Rosella Ayan Ani scoring the two goals for the home team.
Speaking after the game, coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo said, “Training matches of this nature helps the team. We have played and seen what these girls can do and where the loopholes are. We are rebuilding and with this team if we play more international matches we will do better.”
The Black Queens will not able to participate in the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations after failing to secure a qualifications.
