Asamoah Gyan has replied critics mocking his failure to convert the 2010 FIFA World Cup quarter final penalty against Uruguay.
It’s exactly ten years since Asamoah Gyan missed a last-minute penalty against Uruguay when Ghana faced the South American country in the quarter-finals of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
It was a moment could have landed Ghana in the semi-finals of the competition and becomes the first ever African country to reach that stage of the competition.

Gyan prior to that game has powered in 3 goals, in games against Serbia, Australia and United State of America.
Ghana painfully lost to Uruguay on penalty shoot-outs, a moment that will never be erased in the country’s football history.
Today, July 2, 2020 marks exactly ten years since Asamoah Gyan blew such a decider away to subsequently deny Ghana a semi-final berth in the World Cup and Ghanaians have took to various media platforms to discuss the event.
Many Ghanaians till date jabs the former Sunderland attacker for missing such a great chance despite being the country’s all-time leading topscorer.

Responding to the various reactions in the media, Asamoah Gyan wrote on his Twitter page that, “We celebrate failure more than achievements. Me di333 I dey my corner dey enjoy myself. My family is very proud me. That’s what matters to me the most.”
