Asante Kotoko head coach Mariano Barreto has said his outfit are not under any pressure despite bitterest rivals Hearts of Oak taking over the summit of the league table.
According to the Portuguese tactician, though Hearts of Oak have been impressive in the last five league matches, Kotoko doesn’t feel any pressure considering the number of matches left for the season to end.
This comes after Kotoko managed to pick only a point at Dormaa against Aduana Stars, a venue they have failed to get all three points recently.
Speaking after the game, Mariano Barreto said, “I am not feeling any pressure from Hearts of Oak, I feel pressure for our team and not the other teams.”
He however conceded that there are a lot of work to do in the team if they want to win the league season from rivals Hearts of Oak.
“There is still something wrong with Kotoko. In the first 25 minutes we did well but in the last 10 minutes we didn’t play well. In the second half we controlled the game but we had one fantastic chance but Kumi didn’t control the ball well and we missed. We came to win and we didn’t so we are disappointed”.
Despite drawing at Dormaa, Asante Kotoko are currently sitting second on the league log after 27 matches, with just two points separating them and leaders Hearts of Oak…[ads5]
