Hearts of Oak are temporarily leading the Ghana Premier League table after defeating Eleven Wonders 0:1 at Techiman in week 26 of the Ghana Premier League on Friday afternoon.
The Phobians were the visitors to Eleven Wonders side who needed the three points to get out of the relegation zone.
It was a frantic encounter at the Ohene Ameyaw Park in Techiman as Kwadwo Obeng Junior netted the only goal to secure the visitors the three maximum points.
Prior to the game, Hearts of Oak had gone three matches unbeaten and were just two points adrift bitterest rivals Asante Kotoko who were sitting on top of the league table.
A defensive blunder on the part of Eleven Wonders propelled Kwadwo Obeng Junior to get the only goal at the 25th minute of the encounter.
Though Eleven Wonders came in stronger to get the equalizer, the Hearts of Oak defenders led by captain Fatawu Mohammed were able to defend gallantly till the blast of the final whistle.
Hearts of Oak are now sitting on top of the league table with 46 points but may drop to the second position should Asante Kotoko defeat WAFA SC at the Lenclay Sports Stadium in Obuasi on Saturday…
