Defender Abdul Ganiyu has shot Asante Kotoko to the lead at the Lenclay Sports Stadium in Obuasi against WAFA SC.
The dependable centre-back broke the virginity of the game from the spot after Andy Kumi Francis was brought down in the penalty box by the WAFA SC goalkeeper.
Ganiyu simply converted the ball despite Kwame Bonsu”s effort to prevent the ball from entering the net.
