The Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has expressed his dissatisfaction with the government decision to allow only vaccinated fans for Ghana and Nigeria clash.
It would be recalled that the Youth and Sports Ministry in a statement last Tuesday stated that only vaccinated supporters will be allowed entry to the Cape Coast Sports Stadium for Ghana’s clash against Nigeria in the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoff round.
The statement further entreated football loving fans who wished to watch the Black Stars game at the stadium but are yet to vaccinated to as soon as possible to do so before the matchday.
But reacting to this on Kumasi-based Akoma FM, Sammy Gyamfi described the decision as nonsense, unlawful and one that is not supported by science.
“That’s pure nonsense. The Directive for compulsory vaccination of football spectators is unlawful and it is not supported by science.” He emphasized.
Ghana will face long-standing rivals Nigeria in the world cup playoff at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Friday, March 25, 2022 before the reverse fixture in Abuja in four days time.
