The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named referees to officiate the 2019 AFCON in Egypt with Ghanaian referees excluded.
The list comprised of 26 center referees and 30 assistant referees picked to officiate the upcoming tournament in Egypt.
Even though football activities in the country was halted after the Anas expose, many Ghanaians were of the view that referee Daniel Laryea who was selected among some selected referees on the continent for a pre-afcon seminar at Morocco in April, 2019 should have been included in the final list for the tournament.
Egypt had five referees, Morocco had four while Algeria had 3 to officiate the tournament which kicks start on June 21, 2019.
