Sekondi Hasaacas, one of the household names in Ghana football when writing the history, is currently in bed with financial crisis. The club that was once upon a time one of the kingpins in the domestic league, now struggles to compete with newbies like Skyy FC, Achiken, BYFA and others in the division one league.
The financial problems at the team is severe to an extent that, the former Ghana Premier League champions, who once upon a time, had about six players starting for the Black Stars of Ghana, are currently struggling to maintain a coach for the next league season. The team had to resort to assistant Joe Agyemang Jnr as new head coach for next season after the departure of Mustapha Fudail, who had to left due to the fact that he had to go seven months without salary and six unpaid winning bonuses.
Mustapha Fudail made this known when speaking to Takoradi-based Ahoto FM in an interview. He stated during the interview that Hasaacas failed to show supremacy and muscles in the zone II of the division one league due to financial crisis.[ads2]
The picture was painted even more clearer when the Communication Officer of the club, Macall Mensah admitted that due to the financial constraints, it will even be more difficult for the team to secure a return ticket to the Ghana Premier League comparing the project that the likes of Samartex, Skyy FC are doing recently.
The question is just simple, does Hasaacas need an investor and even which investor will pump his cash into a company that is limited by guarantee and not assured of huge returns at the end of the day.
Does Hasaacas have board of directors??
Hasaacas have a board of directors but have refused to invest in the club hence suffering financially and not able to pay players frequently unlike his peers Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics and AshantiGold.[ads3]
As it has been told, Hearts of Oak were in such situation and the team was about to collapsed when astute businessman Togbe Afede stood on his grounds to buy the majority of shares when they were made available to the fans and the public.
The Phobians are now nearing the completion of their famous Pobiman project and are currently the reigning Ghana Premier League and FA Cup champions, a feat they have achieved due to the gargantuan financial support from Togbe Afede.

I nearly lost respect among the supporters – Coach Mustapha Fudail on why he left Hasaacas
Inasmuch as Kotoko is not limited by shares, the structures in the team and the support from the overlord of the Asante Kingdom keeps them going but same cannot be said of Hasaacas – the 1977 Ghana Premier League champions.
Though the women’s side, Hasaacas Ladies is being run smoothly by its management, same cannot be said of the male side who are struggling to even scout for the best of young talent to compete for a spot in the Ghana top-flight football.[ads4]
Head by Samuel Arbuah, an up and coming businessman with wife and kids that need to be catered for, the management of Hasaacas (male) have tried everything humanly possible but not enough to elevate the team from the gargantuan financial hardships.
Considering the performance of the team last season, if care is not taken, Hasaacas might join their brothers Sekondi Eleven Wise in the division two league, a situation that will bring the image of football in the Western region in jeopardy.
The team is currently on the verge of losing most of its top players to competitors due to that fact that the financial difficulties have incapacitated the club from harbouring them.
As a football fan , it is time that the legalities of the club should be changed and make it a company guaranteed by shares to ensure investors comes in and pump in money to revamp the team just like what the late Senator Brigidi did for Karela United.[ads5]
