The bankroller of King Faisal Football Club, Alhaji Grusah has made a passionate appeal to the overlord of the Asante Kingdom Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to save the team from going to relegation.
King Faisal are currently languishing at the bottom of the Ghana Premier League table after twenty-one matches with all signs indicating that the team is going through difficult times.[ads2]
According to Alhaji Grusah, King Faisal is struggling financially which has affected their performance on the field of play and may be relegated to the division one league should Otumfuo fail to intervene.
Grusah is making the appeal after Otumfou gave Asante Kotoko a whopping Gh¢710,000.00 to settle players signing on fees and other bonuses after meeting the playing body at the Manhyia Palace weeks ago.[ads3]
Grusah in an interview on Gye Nyame Radio in Kumasi stated that King Faisal is having the same problem like that of Asante Kotoko and Otumfuo should also help them financially to save them from relegation.
He believes should Otumfuo helped them financially, it will motivate the players to give their all for the club which will save them from relegation.[ads4]
“In our first attempt, we [King Faisal] wrote to His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to purchase a bus for us but the Vice President [Mahamudu Bawumia] bought us one in honour of him [Otumfou]”, he said.
“Just as His Royal Majesty has stepped in and helped Kotoko with that huge amount, we are also appealing to him to help us to lift us from our position. We also have the same problem as Kotoko, there are outstanding signing on fees to be paid and with that help from him [Otumfou] we are confident of escaping relegation”
“If he comes in, the players will play their heart out and lift their performance because they know they have the backing of the great king who wants us to stay in the league”, Grusah added…[ads5]
