Al-Fahya and Black Stars winger Samuel Owusu has been named Ghana’s most influential youth footballer for the year 2021.
The speedy winger who has been an outstanding player for both club and country beat off competitions from Ghana captain Andre Ayew and Ajax midfielder Mohammed Kudus to clinch the enviable award.
The award was received on behalf of the former Čukarički star by Medeama SC spokesperson and the Chief Executive Officer of the Owusu Project, Patrick Akoto.[ads2]
He shot to fame in the Black Stars jersey during the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt where Ghana only reached the knockout stage.
Owusu was a delight to watch during a short loan spell at Saudi Arabian giants Al Ahli, scoring four goals in 10 matches with several assists.[ads3]
He returned to his parent club Al-Fahya to continue his blistering and unimaginable form as he continues to propel the team to a quick return to the country’s top-flight.
Samuel Owusu netted seven goals for Al-Fahya in 26 appearances last season and helped them back to the elite division after just a season in the second-tie[ads5]
