Two outstanding locally-based players are likely to get their first ever Black Stars invitations.
With coach CK Akonnor set to name his squad for the next month 2021 AFCON qualifiers against Sudan, the name of the two players might not be far from the squad-list.

According to reports, Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richard Attah and Asante Kotoko midfield sensation Justice Blay are the two players with their names likely to be stipulated among the squad-list.

Undoubtedly, Richard Attah has been a key figure in the Rainbow giant set up, capping all nine matches in the ongoing Ghana Premier League campaign.

The former Elmina Sharks netminder has been incredible for the Phobians in between the sticks , keeping a clean sheet in their clash against Aduana Stars at the fortress Nana Agyeman Badu II Park.

Asante Kotoko holding midfielder Justice Blay, touted by some astute pundits in the game as the best player in the ongoing Ghana Premier League, might have his name stipulated in the Black Stars squad-list.

Blay is without argument, Asante Kotoko best player in the ongoing league campaign despite the sudden emergence of Mudasiru Salifu and sixteen-year old Matthew Anim Cudjoe.

The former Medeama Sporting Club midfielder has capped all nine matches this season for Kotoko, scoring two goals with about three man-of-the-match awards.

He was among the final players shortlisted for the Ghana Premier League player of the month of January 2020 but lost the accolade to Aduana Stars striker Yahaya Mohammed.

Justice Blay has been voted Asante Kotoko player of the month of January 2020, beating off competitions from Christopher Nettey and deputy skipper Emmanuel Gyamfi.

Meanwhile, coach CK Akonnor is touring Europe, meeting most of the key Black Stars players and is expected to land in Ghana soon to name his final squad.
