Former Asante Kotoko gaffer CK Akonnor and Ibrahim Tanko are set to be named new Black Stars coaches.

According to reports murmuring from the GFA, the duo have been earmarked for the job following a careful deliberations.
This has become possible following the dissolution of the various technical benches of the national teams by the GFA.
The dissolution of the various national teams technical benches affected Kwesi Appiah who was then the Black Stars head coach.
After several meetings at the GFA, reports indicate that Akonnor and Tanko might be given the Black Stars coaching job despite rumours of the FA wanting a foreign coach.

Report further states that, the government of Ghana also want a local coach for the Black Stars job and with that the GFA might appoint the two for the vacant job.
Ibrahim Tanko led the Black Meteors to the fourth position in the 2019 U23 AFCON where Ghana failed to make it to Tokyo Summer Olympics this year.
Akonnor was also the assistant Black Stars gaffer before the dissolution of the various national teams technical bench.
