Kumasi Asante Kotoko are set to name Karela United gaffer Johnson Smith as the new assistant coach, Kyfilla.com has learnt.
According to reports making rounds in the Ghanaian media, Asante Kotoko assistant coach Akapo Patron has been relieved off his duties after the exit of head coach Charles Kwablah Akonnor and Johnson Smith is likely to take over Patron’s role.
According to reports, Johnson Smith is inches closer for Asante Kotoko switch and will be assign the assistant coaching role.
Kyfilla.com understands, Johnson Smith will assist Kjetil Zachariassen who will be announced the head coach for the Porcupine Warriors in no time soon after C.K Akonnor resigned.
Asante Kotoko beat Karela United in the finals of the NC Special Competition tier 1 and have qualified for the next season’s CAF Champions League campaign.
