Ghana coach, Otto Addo has revealed interest to lead the Black Stars to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The former Ghana international qualified the Black Stars to the World Cup after beating Nigeria in the playoff round.
Otto Addo was named the Black Stars coach to play the playoff round against Nigeria following the sacking Milovan Rajevac.
He was able to qualify Ghana to the prestigious tournament in Qatar after taming star-studded Nigeria side in the playoff.
Aftermath of the playoff round comes with calls that the Borussia Dortmund assistant coach should be given the Black Stars job for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
On whether he would love to take the Black Stars to the World Cup as the head coach, Otto Addo responded that, ” Sure, sure, I’m willing to take Ghana to the World Cup, but I have a contract with Dortmund and I have to respect that, and the decision is in the hands of Dortmund.”
“I will be meeting my superiors at Dortmund on Thursday to discuss whether they can permit me to take the Black Stars job whilst I continue with my job at Dortmund”, Otto Addo said in an interview aired on Kumasi-based Pure FM.
Otto Addo has become the second Ghanaian coach to qualify Ghana to the World Cup after James Kwasi Appiah.
Ghana has been paired in group H of the World Cup alongside Portugal, Uruguay and Korea Republic.
