Head coach Otto Addo has handed debut call-ups to four players ahead of Ghana’s international friendlies against Austria and Germany later this month.
The quartet — Derrick Luckassen, Marvin Senaya, Daniel Agyei and one other newcomer — have been included in a 26-man squad named for the two preparatory matches ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Centre-back Luckassen, who plays for Pafos FC, earned his maiden call-up following strong performances in Cyprus. A product of the AZ Alkmaar academy, he has previously featured for clubs including PSV Eindhoven, Hertha BSC, RSC Anderlecht, Kasımpaşa, Fatih Karagümrük and Maccabi Tel Aviv. Luckassen was part of the Pafos side that won the 2024–25 Cypriot league title and also scored the club’s first goal in the UEFA Champions League.
Right-back Senaya joins the squad from French Ligue 1 side AJ Auxerre. The defender previously played for RC Strasbourg Alsace, FC Sochaux-Montbéliard and FC Lausanne-Sport after making his professional debut in 2021.
Forward Agyei, who currently plays for Turkish club Kocaelispor, was born in England and previously featured for Leyton Orient, Crewe Alexandra, Oxford United and Burnley FC before moving to Turkey.
Several established players also return to the squad, including Iñaki Williams, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Ibrahim Sulemana, Thomas Partey and Alexander Djiku.
Ghana will face Austria in Vienna on March 27 before travelling to Stuttgart to take on Germany on March 30 in two key warm-up matches as preparations continue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
