I have been thinking on a report making rounds in the local media, about Normalization Committee boss, Dr. Kofi Amoah wanting to sack Ghana FA technical director Francis Oti Akenteng.

Even though I don’t rely on reports to make certain decisions in life, we shouldn’t also forget the adage that “there’s no smoke without fire” and I have decided to share my personal view on the said story.
In the said reports, Dr. Kofi Amoah wants to fire Oti Akenteng due to ‘lack of ideas’ to direct the ‘already dead’ Ghana football.
Yes! I believe in change, am an advocate for change because when water stay in a bottle for far too long, it stinks, but come to think of it, when you don’t have enough water to replace the water in the bottle, why do you pour the old one away?
Yes! Oti Akenteng has stayed for long and I agree he needs to be changed, but not now when Ghana football is in tatars; clubs don’t know when the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League is starting, GFA Congress likely to face an injunction among others.

Under his regime as the technical director for Ghana FA, look at the number of coaches he has produced; Kwesi Appiah, Ibrahim Tanko, Yaw Preko, Karim Zito, just to mention few are testimonies of Oti Akenteng’ hard work.
The coaching courses he has been organizing, who will take over should he be sacked today. Let’s have a rethink about it, appoint someone to understudy him first before parting company with him.
Has Dr. Kofi Amoah thought of who has the ‘capa’ to succeed Oti Akenteng, despite this crucial moment in Ghana football?
In my view, only Mas-Ud Didi Dramani deserves to mount the podium as the new Ghana FA technical director, but will he leave his job at FC Nordsjaelland for the technical director role?
Personally, I think Dr. Kofi Amoah should advise himself on this decision of sacking Oti Akenteng, and rather think about the way forward of normalizing Ghana football as mandated by FIFA.
